Welcome

The Parkersburg Fire Department protects a resident population of 33,000 and a daytime population of approximately 50,000 people. Parkersburg is home to the U.S. Department of the Treasury – Bureau of Public Debt, Coldwater Creek – East Coast Distribution and other various manufacturing and industrial facilities. The area consists of 12 square miles located along the convergence of the Little Kanawha and Ohio Rivers. It is easily accessed from Interstate 77 and US Route 50.

The Fire Department is under the direction of Fire Chief Eric Taylor. It is staffed with 57 career firefighters (54 hour schedule), working out of 6 fire stations. In addition to firefighting, the department also responds to automobile accidents, search and rescue, water rescue, emergency medical backup, fire prevention education and a multitude of other requests.

Why we chose www.OnlyMinutesAway.com

The main reason for having a career fire department. . . time! A typical house fire doubles in size every 30 seconds. Using those figures, in 5 minutes, a small fire will grow to over a 1000 square feet. Needless to say, time is of the essence. With it’s 6 fire stations, the Parkersburg Fire Department has an average response time of 2-4 minutes.

We hope you never need us, but if you do. . . the Parkersburg Fire Department is ONLY MINUTES AWAY!
